FULL MOON FORECAST: JULY
There has been something in the works, something that you’ve been working on or towards. It’s as if you’ve been chiseling away at something over a stretch of time. This full moon is an invitation to reflect back on just how far you’ve come. Sure, you may still have work to do, but pause here. Remember back to when you first began your trek and honor the distance you’ve traversed to get where you are now. You’re likely to see a part of the story in a new light this week and may need to do a little course-correcting. That’s okay, do it! Saturn always rewards hard work handsomely. Saturnian lessons and gifts last a lifetime.
FULL MOON SAGITTARIUS: WHAT’S (UNDERNEATH) THE BIG IDEA?
Sagittarius, the sign the moon is transiting, is the realm of the “higher mind”. Our higher mind is on a quest for enlightenment, sees the big picture and encourages us to think more broadly. It’s where we travel to get away from our day-to-day lives. The moon in Sagittarius is optimistic, idealistic and always takes us beyond what we think we know or where we would typically go.
Sagittarius energy is fun and upbeat. This sign has a playful and free spirit that always helps to lighten the mood. Sagittarius is truth-seeking and on a quest to prove magic is everywhere; magic is a universal truth.
ASTRO-PARENTING: HOW ASTROLOGY CAN HELP STRENGTHEN YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR CHILDREN
Astrology is a way to gain insight. This insight can be applied to many areas of life, parenting and caregiving included. Astrology can give us clues about our child’s temperament, learning style, emotional needs, communication style, mental processing and desires. By looking at our child’s natal chart (a snapshot of where the planets were positioned when they took their first breath, also known as a birth chart or astrology chart), we can get an elevated perspective about how they show up in and interact with the world.
CARING FOR OUR TAURUS MOON CHILDREN
Think about it, pregnancy is measured by “moon cycles.” When babies are born they are in a very lunar season of life. A lot of times they are even nocturnal! This is a whole other branch of astrology and the topic I will be exploring in this new series.
The moon is exalted (or in a privileged position) in sensory seeking earth sign Taurus. The moon is ruled by the planet of luxury and beauty, Venus. A child with a Taurus moon will likely lean towards the finer things in life and enjoy good food. This is the kid that seeks out a comfort meal after a rough day. They will stay loyal and may even be stubborn about things they are passionate about.
WHAT DOES MERCURY RETROGRADE MEAN?
Mercury Retrograde gets hyped as a horrible thing; I'd like to reframe that. Mercury Retrograde is manageable when we have foresight and understanding. Let's unpack what it can actually mean when Mercury is in retrograde.
Mercury Retrograde is a time when, from our view here on Earth, Mercury seems to slow down, come to a stop and then slowly move backward. We know that astronomically this is not the case, but in astrology, we look at how the planets appear from the earth’s perspective. Planets in the sky never stop moving, but from our geocentric perspective, sometimes they appear to.
JANUARY ASTROLOGY FORECAST: CANCER FULL MOON
January is typically seen as the time to make changes and overhaul old habits. If you are feeling that pressure, I invite you to wait. Use from now until early March to come up with a solid plan and begin at the start of the astrological new year, the Aries season. This is still prime time to tend to one’s soil. Nature isn’t blooming yet, and you don’t have to either. Additionally, Mercury is retrograde and there’s a solid chance you will have to revise your plan anyway.
NOVEMBER ASTROLOGY FORECAST: TAURUS FULL MOON LUNAR ECLIPSE
Eclipses make way for what’s possible when the path is equalized and cleared, even if that means clearing something we have attachments to. With that in mind, some of us may feel like we are quantum leaping or shifting timelines altogether. There’s this element of being in some sort of fun house at a carnival. It makes me think of those strange mirrors that create distorted proportions as you walk towards them, or trying to walk through a dimly lit, spinning tube with little lights dotted throughout. For Marvel fans: It feels a bit like we are riding through space-time with Dr. Strange. It’s hard to say where we will end up, but we know we are in for a ride. Not everything is how it may seem.
OCTOBER ASTROLOGY FORECAST: ARIES FULL MOON
The full moon phase is a time when both, conscious and subconscious are illuminated, or aware of each other. As a result of this tense aspect, you may feel: more emotional, more self-aware, more spiritual or psychic, restless, unable to sleep, or like all that you have been working towards has finally paid off. You may also experience vivid dreams, sudden insight or have a gut feeling about something. Anecdotally, I find my child and pets are also a little more rambunctious during this time, and I can’t tell you (here & now anyway) how much has changed for us since I embraced leaning into, “It’s a full moon.” What I can say here and now is this: It’s made a huge difference in my expectations for our bedtime routine a couple of nights each month, which has ultimately led to a better experience for all involved.
